International Training Camp - November 2017

Dear club members

I know its a long way off at the moment, but I wanted to share the exciting news of who our special guest Coach will be at our November 2017 International Training Camp.

It is with great pleasue I can anounce that we will be having Colin Oates with us for both the Saturday and the Sunday morning.  Colin was one of our highest ranked male judoka and has a record as long as Ranj's arms.

13th Mahorakan Westland Tournament 2017

We are now starting to make plans for our club members to attend the 13th Mahorakan Westland Tournament on Sunday 11 June 2017 in Holland.  Once again we will travel out on Saturday morning and on the way out we will try to train in Lille with Judo Club Monsois again for a few hours, or in Holland with Mohrakan Topjudo.  These arrangements are yet to be confirmed.

We will stay overnight in Holland before taking part in the tournament on Sunday and travelling back Sunday afternoon/evening.

Club Closed for the Easter Weekend

Just a quick reminder that because its the Easter Bank Holiday weekend the club will be shut on Good Friday (14 April) and on Easter Monday (17 April).  We hope to see you all as normal as from next Friday 21 April.

See you all then and in the meantime enjoy your Easter break.

New on-line club shop now open

Finally, we are very excited to be able to anounce that our new range of club clothing in a red/black design from Kukri Sports and which features the club logo and the kanji for Judo embroidered on the front and the name 'Walderslade Judo' embroidered on the back, is now ready and open for business.

Club visit it France - March 2017

Hi All

Just a quick note to say that if you are intending to come on our forthcoming trip to Lille but have not yet paid your deposit, could you let us know quickly as the French club has asked for the number of people we will be bringing now so that they can ensure the right number of hotel rooms can be booked.

Dates announced for our next two trips abroad

Dear Club Members

Visit to Lille, France, 25th - 26th March

We can now confirm the dates for our next two trips abroad.  Our annual trip to Lille in France will be over the weekend of 25th and 26th March and there is not expected to be any increase on last years price of £65/person.

Full details will be published and displayed in the club over the next few weeks.

We just wanted to let you all know about some of the exciting events coming up over the next few months.  We have shown as many of the forthcoming events that we think you might be interested in, but please note that for some of them the dates are still to be confirmed for definate.

4th Feb  National Dan Grading, High Wycombe

5th Feb  National Age Band Championships, 12 - 18 year olds, Ice Sheffield

Friday night judo re-opens tomorrow (20 January)

The club finally re-opens from the Christmas break and snow closures as from tomorrow.  We hope to see you all there, the same place at the same times, to get 2017 off to a great start.

We already have an exciting weekend of judo coming up with some of our juniors competing in the Southern Area Trials for the British Schools Championships in Gillingham on Saturday and a number of our seniors competing in the Kent Kyu Cup in Dartford on Sunday.

Club closed tonight due to icy conditions

Please note that we have been contacted by Greenacre Academy and advised that because of severe icy conditions in Walderslade the Greenacre Academy is closed today and all lettings for the evening being cancelled.  We aplogise for this closure this evening and hope to see you all next week, when hopefully the what must be near artic conditions in Walderslade may have disappeared.
